The first time I saw these sliced Apple Appetizers was at Clean Food Crush. I bet you can make them in many different ways, but the tuna and apple combination just spoke to me.
It is very easy to make, and looks fantastic.
Last night we had a Christmas party in our Zilis Team, and I decided to bring these Crisp Apple Tuna Appetizers. I did take quite some time though, as I was making for all 60 people!!! LOL it took a lot of apples.
Usually I just make it for the two of us, which makes it fast and easy as I like!

You’ve probably heard the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” and there is some truth to that, as the Apple have said to have more than 10,000 nutrients in it! You DO need to get your apples Organic!! Check out Five reasons to eat Organic apples
The most known are Vitamin C, potassium and fibers. You also get quercetin, catechin, and chlorogenic acid. These plant compounds are responsible for many of apples’ benefits, and great antioxidants.

What is new to me is that apples are a great weight loss friendly food, because of their high fiber and low calorie content.
In this 12 week study, women who had 1.5 large apple a day, lost 2.9 pounds over the course of the study!!
Tuna is not good for you, as it is filled with heavy metals and plastic!! We hear and see that over and over again. I DO NOT agree!!; as long as you get a good quality, wild caught cold water Tuna, it is (to me anyways) a lot better than getting the cheap farm raised Tuna.

For this super amazing appetizer you’ll need:

2 cans of Tuna (then you have for lunch tomorrow too!) find my recipe for Tuna Salad here
A good quality mayonnaise
Pepper and salt to your taste
1 bunch of fresh mint leaves
I use 1 apple per person
Seeds from 1 Pomegranate apple

Once you’ve made the Tuna Salad, it’s time to prepare the apples.

Slice the apples in 4-5 nice thick slices
Remove the apple core
Add a Mint leave over the hole in the slice
Add 1 tbsp of Tuna Salad
Top with Pomegranate seeds
